1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. 2 I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. Genesis 12:1-2 NLT
Abram (who later became Abraham) was asked to leave everything that he was familiar with to go to a place that God didn’t give him all the details about. He would have to leave his country, relatives, and family. The only thing God did tell him was that if he obeyed, he would be blessed.
So many of us want God’s blessings but have a hard time obeying what He asks. We want specifics and details to move forward. The truth is, God will seldom give details but always associate blessings with obedience. When we respond to what He asks of us, He will in turn bless us in the process even if all the specifics are not given up front.
God, help all of us today respond with obedience so that we may be in Your will and blessed because of it.
