Designing a plan for 2018

Have ever got to the beginning of a new year with no plan on how to make it better?

In this episode I am going to make sure that doesn’t happen!

I believe God is a planning God, creation, world, garden, tree, plants, animals, fruits, then – Adam and Eve.

Adam and Eve sinned and so God planned to one day bring Jesus into the world.

When Jesus came into the world, he disciples 12 guys so the church could be established

What do you want in 2018? To get closer to God, not be single anymore, loose weight, get fit, overcome an addiction

Let’s create a plan together for 2018

Plan – an intention or decision about what one is going to do
To decide on or arrange in advance

Three different types of plans
1.Things you planned for – wedding, birthday, Quinceañera’s, vacation

2.Things you didn’t plan for – food, pregnancy, kids at the toy store, death in the family, divorce
The one we are going to focus on is the one….

3.Plans you wish you would have kept – gym, overcoming anger, addiction, reading books, eating habits

One of the reason why these plans don’t last is because of this…

1. Plans that involve discipline or lifestyle change are the most difficult to keep.

2. A plan with no vision will almost always fail.

a. Sometimes you must image what you want to look like, feel like to stay on track.

b. If you want to see something that you’ve never seen before, you must do something that you have never done before.

c. What would the future you want you to do? Imagine

As a Christian, I think the best opportunity you have at sticking to your plan is keeping your focus on God.

There is story in the Bible where Jesus tells his disciples to meet him on the other side of this lake

They had along a busy day

The disciples ran into trouble when the wind kicked up and they became afraid fighting the heavy waves.

Jesus comes to them walking on water.

29 …So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. 31 Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14:29-31 NLT

For a moment Peter did something impossible, something that nobody has ever done, he walked on water

But when he stopped looking a Jesus and turned to see the waves, he began to sink, he lost focus

You may think what you want to accomplish in 2018 is impossible

But if set a goal and stay focused on God you can do what you never thought was possible.

I want to you comment below and write down on a piece of paper what it is that you want to plan for and succeed at in 2018 and we are going to talk about how to carry it out this whole month.
